Hyundai has launched its new compact electric car, the Inster, with prices starting at $30.8k in the UK.
The vehicle is part of the A segment and sits below the Ioniq 5 and 6 models in the brand’s electric lineup. It uses the design of the Casper, sold in South Korea, but with a longer wheelbase to accommodate the electric motorization.
The Inster offers two battery options: one with 42 kWh, giving a range of about 327 km, and another with 49 kWh, which can go up to approximately 368 km. Both versions have a single motor with power outputs ranging between 95 hp and 113 hp.
The design of the Inster is a mix of robustness and charm, with a raised nose that gives a sense of adventure, along with innovative features inside. The cabin is made from sustainable materials, with practical solutions like adjustable seats and no transmission tunnel, offering more comfort for passengers.
The car also comes equipped with advanced technology, including driver assistance systems, dual 10.25-inch screens, and ambient lighting with 64 colors.
Additionally, there are plans for a more robust version called Inster Cross, which will have a more adventurous look but retain the same dimensions. A sportier N-line version is also expected. The basic model of the Inster includes 15-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, and a rear camera, while the higher version offers upgrades like larger wheels, heated seats, and smart foldable seats.
